I was starting a new roof job on my birthday.A roofer in Rome

Roofer's use a hook blade for cutting shingles, vapor barrier and ice guard. It was the first thing in the morning I installed the drip edge and then on the very first cut I over cut the ice gaurd and drove my hook blade right into the meaty part of my hand, between my thumb and index finger. At first I covered it with the other hand and applied pressure. I let out a few choice words and looked at it. Wow happy birthday!Autopsy of a poet

I can see down in me it's deep. I can see the layers of skin clean cut. I see meat and I'm surprised that I can see it move but the skin just lay open. I thought at least it's not bleeding, no sooner than I thought that the blood pooled in to fill the gash. Blood was dripping from my elbow coming down the ladder. All I onhave in the truck is duc tape. When I got tapped up and back to the roof I wrote "damn it" in my head while I worked.
